The Fine Print
Please note that the IRS states that you may file to deduct the fair market value of your timeshare donation, should your timeshare qualify. If your timeshare donations Fair Market Value is estimated to be over $5000, you will need to get a timeshare appraisal in order to file the claim on your taxes. It is important to note that this type of tax deduction refers only to deeded timeshare property interests. Unfortunately, a right to use timeshare won’t be recognized by the IRS for a tax deduction purposes. Currently the IRS does not allow tax deductions to occur timeshare week donations. Only deeded real estate interests fall into this category. It should be noted that every situation and timeshare ownership is different. In order to determine if you are eligible to receive a tax write off from donating your timeshare, please consult your CPA, lawyer or financial tax adviser. We do not give tax advice/assistance, please speak with a financial tax adviser or CPA or to see if your timeshare donation is eligible for a tax deduction. A CPA is also able to help you file your deduction with your tax return, if eligible.
